HISTORY OF DENIM

The first pair of blue jeans was introduced in the market on May 20, 1873, and this day is also marked and often celebrated as World Jeans Day. The first jeans were indigo blue colored because darker shades hid more dirt.

BASIC COMMON THING ABOUT EACH DENIM

These days we have; Distressed denim, denim with patchwork, basic denim and so many other styles that you can choose from. Even though they are available in so many different patterns, there is one thing that is common in each one of them: The tiny pocket.

There are a lot of basic questions that come into our minds. But it becomes very irritating when we don’t get the answers to those questions. One such question is the tiny pocket.

We always used to ask our parents the reason for that tiny pocket’s existence. The only answer that we used to get is that “they make the little pocket to keep coins safe” and we used to think that it’s the only truth which in reality it is not.

In older times, the cowboys used to keep pocket watches. Pocket watches are very delicate and whenever the cowboys kept their watches in a bigger pocket, the glass would break or get damaged.

To resolve this problem, a tiny pocket was introduced. Levi Strauss Co. was the first brand who create a little pocket in their jeans.

WHAT ELSE CAN YOU USE IT FOR?

Nowadays, almost every fashion brand has introduced a little pocket in their jeans. It has become a fashion statement as it makes the denim look more detailed and fashionable.

But, the existence of a pocket watch is not that common in today’s generation which is why nobody knows the reason behind the presence of this tiny pocket.

You can use the pocket for keeping important bills, coins, buttons, or safety pins.
