Being a foody myself, I believe in eating new foods and eating everything in an excess quantity. Delhi is a place where you will find many places to hang out and chill. There are a large no. of cafes and lounges. To be honest, most of them are very expensive and just like me, most of you get a limited amount of pocket money and whom we are lying to we all are broken that’s why I prefer street food more than going to cafes and all.

Desi taco is also a street food. We all have read love stories but most beautiful love stories are of a foody and tasty food. This is one of them, I was in Queen Mary’s School, it’sin Tis Hazari. Next, to our school, there is a hospital St.Stephen. Outside that hospital, there is an old man who sells chole kulcheHe is the only inventor of DESI TACO.

His main customers are students and when he noticed that it’s hard for students to eat it while walking, he started filling chole in kulcha pocket and then pack it with a piece of newspaper. Students use to call it Kulcha roll. It was of  Rs. 5 back then, and after school, I and my friends use to go there. I was one of those students who ate 3 rolls per day. People remember different things about their school but for a Marian, kulcha roll will always be her best memory.

Who won’t miss that spicy chole mixed with pyaz(onion) and Hari Mirchi *green chilli*, soft kulcha filled with this and then wrapped in Newspaper? For me, he was my hunger saver. During PTM’s I and mom used to sit at his stall and eat kulcha and chole. Looking at him always make me realize that working hard is always important.

Writing all this makes me crave for Desi taco. All the people who are reading this and lives in Delhi, you must go to his stall. You will find it outside St. STephen hospital after 10 am and please speak a little loudly to him as he has poor listening power and ask him to make a kulcha roll for you. I am sure you will only thank me after eating it.
