Here are some exotic fruits, which you may have never heard of. These fruits are very famous around the world and have a unique taste with a quirky name. These fruits are generally found in the most biodiverse region of the earth: The Tropics.

1. Mangosteen

This fruit is really tasty and it can also be used as a medicine. A bit sweet, tangy, and sour, this fruit mainly grows in Southeast Asia, it has an almond-shaped seed in white color, inside of an inedible layer of the purple colored fruit.

 2. Rambutan

A fruit that has a very acidic and sour taste, rambutan is mostly found in Southeast Asia. Supple spines cover the fruit and inside it, is a white-colored pulp that contains a considerable amount of vitamin C. It is also very beneficial for bones and it keeps the skin hydrated.

3. Kiwano

This fruit, also known as the African horned cucumber, has thorn-like spikes and is extremely sour in taste. This fruit is green in color and looks like a pomegranate from the inside. It is a traditional fruit of Africa, which helps to boost metabolism and also improves eyesight.

4. Tamarillo

This fruit, also known as a tree tomato, is an egg-shaped small fruit that is very rich in vitamins and iron. This fruit,  native to the Andes of Ecuador and Columbia is sweet and acetous in taste.

5. Cherimoya

Also known as custard apple, it is a white-colored fruit which is sweet and pulpy. Cherimoya mostly grows in tropical regions around the world and is the native fruit of Columbia and Peru. It has black seeds which are inedible but contain a large amount of vitamin C.

6. Longan

An aromatic fruit that has a great sweet and sour taste with a thin outer layer of its peel. It is most commonly found in China. It has a black seed in the center, which is medicinally useful and helps to cure skin problems. This fruit is rich in vitamin C. Apparently, it is also used to treat snake bites.

7. Passionfruit

Passion fruit is a tropical fruit which is usually oval in shape.  This juicy fruit with a creamy texture is very rich in vitamins A and C. It is a native fruit of southern Brazil and northern Argentina.
