Top Tips on Beauty Dos and Don’ts

Let’s find out what are some beauty dos and beauty don’ts

Beauty is, for the most part, all about habits. It’s not only about using one miracle cream that will work like a magic wand and change our whole face, undergoing expensive procedures, nor even the makeup we use. Where does it actually lie? Simply put, inconsistency. The best products in the world will only do so much without good habits and regular use, and even the most naturally attractive woman in the world will have her beauty dim slowly without taking proper care of herself. So, how do we know what to do, what to use, and how to use it? Well easy, we’re here to tell you! Read on, and let’s find out what are some beauty dos and beauty don’ts that will transform your routine and make it more effective.

Do: try natural solutions

If you’re set on stepping up your beauty routine, you should be aware that your wallet doesn’t necessarily need to suffer. Some things, such as cleansers, can be made entirely from scratch and you don’t have to spend a dime – you can easily make them in your own kitchen.

With ingredients such as brown sugar, sea salt, castor oil, honey, and others, you can easily make natural cleansers and scrubs that will slough away all the dead skin and dirt and make your skin smooth. Use them twice a week and you’ll immediately start noticing the difference.

Don’t: wear makeup everyday

By this, we mostly mean don’t layer on thick, full-coverage foundation every single day if you don’t have to. The combination of primer, foundation, and sweat and grime that accumulate during the day can clog your pores, especially if you tend to wear your foundation for longer than eight hours at a time.

We suggest either going for a lightweight BB cream, something like Diorskin Nude or No7 Beautiful Skin, or simply enjoying a makeup-free day. If you’re worried about pimples and dark circles simply use concealer to spot-conceal all imperfections.

Do: use serums

One of the best, most worthwhile products you can invest in is a serum. Serums are very effective at penetrating the layers of our skin and delivering all the nourishing goodies. So, pick one up and make sure to use it immediately after you cleanse and tone your skin, but before your moisturizer.

Something like Aspect Skincare Hydrating Serum is a good choice because it contains hyaluronic acid and can replenish moisture and stave off signs of aging, and it’s always good to start using serums early if you want your skin to remain youthful.

Don’t: forget sunscreen in winter

Harmful UVA/UVB rays don’t just disappear when it’s cloudy outside, and sunscreen should be a part of your routine even during the coldest of months. It’s important to create this habit because it’s honestly the easiest way to both avoid wrinkles and protect your skin from melanoma and pollution.

Do: eat well to look good

Apart from gentle care, good skin also comes from the inside. Cooked food that’s full of veggies and lean meats like chicken and fish is very good for you, and so are fruits, nuts, and dark chocolate. Candy and other sugary snacks are, on the other hand, pretty terrible, and could actually be the cause of your breakouts and dryness.

Dairy can also influence the pH balance of our skin, and caffeine and alcohol dry it out and can leave it blotchy. Cut down on sugar, processed foods, and dairy, and simply eat cleaner – your skin will thank you.

Don’t: neglect the hygiene of your beauty tools

One of the most important skin resolutions should be simply this: hygiene. When was the last time you cleaned your brushes? Beauty blenders, for example, should generally be washed after every use, and makeup brushes will need a weekly rinse, especially if you use them for foundation, blush, bronzer, and setting powder. Wash them regularly and you’ll avoid a lot of pimples and irritations on your skin.

So, are you ready to have clear, soft, beautiful skin? Now you know what you need to do, and the rest is all about consistency and willpower. Try these tips, stick to them, and you’ll be seeing results in no time!
