The idea of building a light three-wheeled commercial vehicle to power Italy’s post-war economic reconstruction first came to the mind of Corradino D ‘Ascanio as ‘Piaggio Ape’  in 1947.

In South Asia, the auto-rickshaw was first introduced in 1957. Most of the places they are called ‘Tuk Tuks”.
