Anonymouse shops in Sweden:

The movie ‘Ratatouille’ was a perfect amalgamation for anyone who loves food and animation. It brought to us the best of both worlds. Then again, it was just a movie.

But what about the rats and rodents in real life? What if they actually have some special culinary skills or if they do like to run their own kitchens?

As Bizzare as it may sound to us, a group of artist in Sweden did go the extra mile to make a parallel universe for these little creatures.

If you happen to travel to the town of Malmo, Sweden, you will see some miniatures shops around the street corners. These 70×30 cm shops have been created to cater to the needs of mice: with special decors, mini furniture and small food tidbits for the mice to munch on. Some shops have a display of nuts for sale while the others sell cheese.

There are even posters put up advertising the upcoming concerts and other events at Sweden’s Anonymouse shops!

As simple and petite as they look, a lot of time and energy has gone into creating these artifacts.

For some reason, the artists involved in putting up these street art installations prefer to stay anonymous. These installations have been therefore rightly named as ‘Anonymouse’.

The inspiration for Sweden’s Anonymouse, the miniature world of mice started over a year ago in Paris.

One of Sweden’s Anonymouse representatives seems to have quoted in an interview, “We are obviously fond of miniatures. For us, the main point with the little scenes is to spread a little joy”.

And isn’t it apt? Anyone who sees the little mouse cafes with mice sitting at the mini table nibbling on its meal would definitely have an “aww..” moment.
